This wedding shot last year just after the national lockdown and showcases this style at one of The Greatest Escapes properties – Woodstock. A Victorian Mansion with lovely gardens and a bandstand perfect for outdoor ceremonies for small weddings. Just think how gorgeous it would then be to have a candlelit dinner there after the ceremony.
Plan Your Day Your Way
From the moment you arrive at Woodstock you will be welcomed, there is the very contemporary pool house for the bridal party to get ready in or the main house which has elegant, stylish rooms. The house is licensed for small wedding ceremonies, it has such a lovely path from the house alongside the gardens such a gorgeous way for a bride to make an entrance. The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant, what better way to have a small wedding, perfect for spending time with your family and friends throughout the day.
After your wedding why not stay a day or so at the house to enjoy the everything Woodstock has to offer relaxing by the outdoor pool, cocktails on the terrace or at the bar near the pool. The local area with Windsor Great Park on its doorstep is a great place to explore, and there are plenty of restaurants and pubs to have a bite to eat.
When Daryl and Olivia booked me for their wedding photography they had faced some big challenges whilst planning their wedding, their dates were changed a few times and just to add to the mix they were moving to Hong Kong! They embraced this every step of the way and loved their wedding day – they even were able to have their dog with them the cutest miniature Daschund who proved very photogenic! The day itself was a real scorcher but with the sound of rolling thunder in the background making it very atmospheric!
When planning your wedding and choosing your photographer, one of the most important parts of your wedding day is taking the time to make creative portraits of you both. Make sure you save at least 30 mins to an hour for this. I will guide you through everything, and we can discuss some ideas and locations, occasionally there will an adventurous endeavour or two!
Having a daring side Daryl and Olivia’s loved the idea of this shot, the vision was to be walking across the garden with smoke around them, taking every risk I asked the 2 Best Men to throw the smoke canons either side of them luckily, they had faith in us that they weren’t going to get hit by them!!! This shot took some thought and direction and I love the result!
Planning the location of the family shots is essential and key for guests not to get bored and wander off, I like to keep everyone happy and smiley! If we are going to include a group shot the perfect way to do this take this photo first whilst we have everyone is together and then move on to do the smaller groups keeping the key guests in the shots are nearby.
